Overcoming Problems in a Tight Space

Our client in Oxenford was after a simple job – replacing a retaining wall that had started to lean over time and had the potential to become dangerous. But simple jobs can sometimes be deceptive.

The space at the site was tight, which can increase difficulty especially where machinery is required. But the real curveball came when the old wall was removed, the ground was excavated, and the drilling began to allow for drainage. Multiple locations presented rock when drilled, which ultimately necessitated moving away from the client’s original plan of a concrete sleeper wall. After some discussion, a core-filled Besser Block wall was decided upon.

Despite the setback and change in plans, the job was completed to the client’s satisfaction, and without any damage to surrounding areas including the house – despite the very tight space and machinery being used.
